Children's Clay Class

At the Toledo Potter's Guild

The Toledo Potters' Guild is offering pottery classes for children 8 through 18. The class provides instruction in various aspects of working with clay, and encourages independence and creativity.  Payment can be mailed, or hand delivered to the Toledo Potters Guild or the Toledo Botanical Gardens administrative office across from it.  To register, and for information about upcoming class days and times, please contact the instructor, Krista Kiessling, at (419) 873-5133 or (419) 344-5768 or email Mycrunchyfamily@aol.com .

Class Content: This class combines instruction with self-directed work time to explore  the use of the potter's wheel, handbuilding and surface decoration. Small class size allows instructor to work with both beginning and more advanced students on a personal basis.

Class Size:  Class size is limited to 10 students (limit based on equipment availability). Every student has access to a potter's wheel. A class may be cancelled if a minimum enrollment  of 6 is not reached.

Fees:  NOTE: the fees may vary for  shorter sessions.  Please contact instructor for fees.           Tuition - $135.00, ten two-hour sessions of instruction.           Supply fee - $17.00, covers cost of glazes, firings, supplies.           Clay fee - $8.00 per 25 lbs.           Student may purchase extra clay as needed. 25 lbs.is minimum purchase.             Total fee of $160.00 for 10 classes may be paid with a check, cash, MasterCard/Visa.
